This course, open to both undergraduate and graduate students, will introduce material point method (MPM), a "hybrid Eulerian-Lagrangian" method to simulate large deformations and fractures of materials, with applications in geotechnical and coastal engineering, structural analysis, material science, geophysics, and computer vision.
