Purdue Civil Engineering Burke Graduate Program ranked #5 in the nation

The Lyles School of Civil and Construction Engineering’s Christopher B. and Susan S. Burke Graduate Program in Civil Engineering has been recognized as a top 5 graduate program in the country.
U.S. News & World Report has released its national rankings of graduate programs for 2025 with Purdue Civil Engineering ranked #5 in the nation. The graduate rankings are computed by weighing multiple factors including research activity as described here.
This school year, Purdue Civil Engineering’s grad program, online graduate program, and undergraduate program have all been ranked in the top five in their respective areas. Our online graduate program was ranked #2 and our undergraduate program was ranked #3 in the nation.
“We are continually seeking to improve the education experience for our students while we persistently pursue the next giant leap in research,” said Rao S. Govindaraju, Bowen Engineering Head of Civil and Construction Engineering and Christopher B. and Susan S. Burke Distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering. “And it is because of our incredible students, alumni, faculty, staff, and partners that we are able to do so.”
Overall, Purdue’s College of Engineering graduate program was ranked fifth in the nation.
