AAE prof. Li publishes textbook on merging radar with communications

Future wireless technologies, including 6G and beyond, are expected to blend communication and radar sensing. Purdue professor Husheng Li describes these blurring lines in his new textbook, Integrated Sensing and Communications: Theory, Algorithm and Applications.
The book offers a structured and accessible introduction to the foundations of both communications and radar, before guiding readers through the core pillars of integrated sensing and communications (ISAC). These include system design, network-level integration, and real-world applications.
Li’s book also highlights how ISAC is becoming a cornerstone technology for 6G systems. It captures the most significant and up-to-date research developments while emphasizing successful applications already emerging in the field.
Li is a professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics and Electrical and Computer Engineering at Purdue University, with research expertise spanning wireless communications, signal processing, cyber-physical systems, and information theory.
