Inseok Hwang and Wenbin Yu Awarded Named Term Professorships

Each position honors a distinguished figure in AAE history.

The School of Aeronautics and Astronautics is proud to announce that Professor Inseok Hwang (left) and Professor Wenbin Yu (right) have been awarded prestigious named term professorships. This recognition follows approval from the AAE Named Professorship Committee and the Engineering Named Professorship Committee.

  • Inseok Hwang will hold the title of Paul Stanley Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
  • Wenbin Yu will be acknowledged as the Milton Clauser Professor of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

These professorships are made possible through the support of AAE alumnus Bill Uhrig. Each position honors a distinguished figure in the history of the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics.

Dr. Paul Stanley played a foundational role in the school’s early development, contributing significantly to Purdue's aeronautics programs from 1945 to 1976.

Dr. Milton Clauser, who led the school from 1950 to 1954, introduced critical advancements in the curriculum and helped position Purdue as a leader in aeronautical education.

The new named-term professorships reflect Hwang and Yu’s exceptional contributions to the field and the lasting impact of Stanley and Clauser on Purdue’s Aeronautics and Astronautics program. Please join us in celebrating this achievement!
