AAE student tabbed in Mortar Board Class of 2021
AAE student Zachary Marshall was selected as one of 42 rising seniors to serve in the Barbara Cook Chapter of Mortar Board Class of 2021.
Students are chosen for their superior scholarship, dedicated service to the university community and outstanding and constant leadership.
Marshall is president of Purdue’s student branch of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics and works on the subsidiary Purdue AIAA Design-Build-Fly team. He also is a member of the Sigma Gamma Tau honor society.
“I am very humbled to have been selected to the Purdue Mortar Board Class of 2021,” said Marshall, who is scheduled to graduate in the spring and tentatively is planning to pursue graduate school. “Working with this dynamic and diverse group of student leaders is a treasured and exciting opportunity.”
Through both physical and virtual mediums, the Mortar Board Class of 2021 will work to enhance student organization collaboration and transparency, recognize excellence in academia and practice community service, Marshall said.
Mortar Board, a senior honor society, has given more than $1 million in fellowships and awards to Purdue students, staff and student organizations since its charter began in 1926.
