Purdue's Board of Trustees approved promotions for two AAE faculty members.

Timothee Pourpoint was promoted to full professor, and Sally Bane was promoted to associate professor. The promotions are effective with the 2019-20 academic year.

Pourpoint's research relates to propulsion, combustion, and energy storage. He has 17 years of research experience on detailed characterization of chemical propellants and hydrogen-based energy storage systems. Pourpoint, who earned his Ph.D. in Aeronautics and Astronautics from Purdue in 2005, started at Purdue as a research associate professor in 2006 and joined the faculty in 2013.

Bane's research interests are in experimental combustion and propulsion, plasmas for combustion and flow control, and optical methods for flow and combustion visualization and measurement. Bane, who joined Purdue in 2011, is a member of the Cold Plasmas Preeminent Team, a group of faculty from across the College of Engineering who collaborate on plasma-related research.
