Jim Luckring (BS '73, MS '74) has received the NATO Science and Technology Organization AVT Panel Excellence Award and delivered the named Lanchester Lecture at the Royal Aeronautical Society in London.

Luckring received the NATO award in recognition and appreciation for his longstanding service and extraordinary scientific contribution rendered to the Applied Vehicle Technology Panel (AVT). His lecture was entitled “The Discovery and Prediction of Vortex Flow Aerodynamics.”

Luckring has spent his career conducting and leading aerodynamic research at the NASA Langley Research Center.

“The opportunities I have received, as well as any accomplishments of my career, are all rooted in the education I received at Purdue,” Luckring says. “I appreciate this very much.”
