AAE graduate student Robert Rolley has been awarded an Indiana Space Grant Consortium (INSGC) Fellowship for the 2016-2017 academic year. Rolley is a Masters student under Visiting Assistant Professor Sarag Saikia. Rolley’s research focus is in conceptual space mission design.

INSGC was created in 1991 under the Space Grant Program. To be eligible for an INSGC Fellowship, a student must be a U.S. citizen enrolled full time as graduate student in good standing at an INSGC affiliate institution. The student must also be involved in NASA-related research or a STEM education project. The INSGC Director and others with experience in graduate education and fellowship awards evaluate fellowship applications on the quality of writing and past performance, ability to communicate an understanding and interest in STEM education, and a clear understanding of the relationship of their interests to NASA.

Rolley was previously selected by the Purdue Graduate School for the 2016 Charles C. Chappelle Fellowship for his graduate studies in AAE. Chappelle Fellows are selected on the basis of character, intellectual ability, and promise of degree attainment. Among other requirements, recipients of Chappelle Fellowships must possess a Purdue undergraduate degree and must demonstrate superior academic achievement and scholarly abilities.
