School of Aeronautics and Astronautics alumnus Michael Corso (BSAAE’71; OAE’11) will present a special lecture on unmanned aerospace vehicles entitled Drones: The Growing Proliferation of Unmanned Aircraft in the National Airspace System on Wednesday, April 22, 2015. The lecture will take place on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College.

Corso is an Attorney, Henderson Franklin Starnes and Holt, and has received recognition throughout his legal career including the Florida Defense Lawyers Association President’s Award and the Defense Research Institute's Exceptional Performance Citation.

For eight consecutive years (2007-2014), Corso has been named to Florida Super Lawyers® magazine, which recognizes the state’s top five percent of attorneys who are selected through an extensive peer review, statewide survey, and independent evaluation. He also has been included in Florida Trend magazine's Legal Elite® (2009-2012) and Best Lawyers in America (2012-2015). Corso is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell.

Corso received the School of Aeronautics and Astronautics 2011 Outstanding Aerospace Engineer Award, and serves on the School’s Industrial Advisory Council (IAC) which meets twice yearly to review topics related to the School’s operations and future goals.

He frequently writes and speaks on issues regarding the defense of non-medical professionals and law office risk management issues to members of the public as well as to bar associations, attorneys, accountants, architects and engineers. His audiences include both student and professional groups. Corso has appeared throughout the United States, in programs sponsored by professional associations, bar associations, clients and educational institutions.
