Dr. Thomas Beutner (BSAAE'87; OAE'07) and Dr. Alton Romig selected as AIAA Fellows

Congratulations to Dr. Thomas Beutner (BSAAE'87; OAE'07) and Dr. Alton D. Romig on their selection by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) in the 2015 Class of AIAA Fellows and Honorary Fellows. They will be honored at an induction ceremony on May 6, 2015 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.

Congratulations to Dr. Thomas Beutner (BSAAE’87) and Dr. Alton D. Romig on their selection by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) in the 2015 Class of AIAA Fellows and Honorary Fellows. They will be honored at an induction ceremony on May 6, 2015 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.

AIAA Fellows are individuals of distinction in aeronautics or astronautics who have made notable valuable contributions to the arts, sciences, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics.

School of AAE graduate Dr. Thomas Beutner (BSAAE’87; OAE'07), (pictured right), heads the Naval Air Warfare and Weapons Department at the Office of Naval Research. Beutner is responsible for the Navy’s science and technology (S&T) investment in aircraft, air and surface weapons technology programs, as well as S&T program manager for the Sea Strike Pillar Future Naval Capability initiative. Dr. Beutner also serves as the Navy’s representative on the Office of the Secretary of Defense Reliance Air Platforms Panel. 

 

Dr. Alton Romig (pictured left) is Vice President and Program Manager, Engineering and Advanced Systems, Advanced Development Programs (ADP) for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. In this capacity, he sets the strategic direction for the capture of new business and leads the management of the world-renowned Skunk Works®, the pre-eminent seat of aerospace innovation for more than 65 years. Additionally, he serves on the School of AAE's Steering Advisory Council.
