School of AAE Ph.D. Student Christabelle Bosson Awarded Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship

School of Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering Ph.D. student Christabelle Bosson has been awarded the Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship for the 2014-15 academic year. The Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship, administered by Purdue's Graduate School, provides support to outstanding Ph.D. candidates in their final year of doctoral degree completion.

School of Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering doctoral student Christabelle Bosson has been awarded the Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship for the 2014-15 academic year. The Bilsland Dissertation Fellowship, administered by Purdue’s Graduate School, provides support to outstanding Ph.D. candidates in their final year of doctoral degree completion. Bilsland Fellows are expected to devote full-time effort to the completion of all doctoral degree requirements to receive their degree at the conclusion of the fellowship tenure.

Christabelle is a Ph.D. student studying with Professor Dengfeng Sun in the School of AAE, and recently completed a one-year internship supported by UARC (University Affiliated Research Center) that links University of California, Santa Cruz and NASA’s Ames Research Center. As part of this internship, Bosson completed research in Air Traffic Management in the Super Density Operations branch of the Aviation division with particular work on stochastic optimization and scheduling of operations in the terminal airspace under uncertainty.

Christabelle participated in the AIAA Aviation conference in June 2014 in Atlanta GA, presenting a conference paper.  Additionally, Bosson participated to the NASA Student Research Symposium in August, and will be presenting another paper in October at the DASC conference on the research completed at NASA.
