Advanced Engineering Calculator
Advisor:
Description:
On numerous occasions, engineering students and professionals find themselves struggling between various tables, charts and calculators. We want to design a ubiquitous calculator that brings all those functionalities into one easy to use product. Students will learn to integrate hardware (keys, screens, microcontroller) with software. They will also get a chance to be involved in designing, prototyping and manufacturing of a new product. Students can choose to work in:
1. Software design – designing user interface
2. Hardware assembly – PCB design based on different hardware used
3. Research – finding and programming different tables, charts used in various engineering disciplines
Relevant Technologies:
Graphical User Interface, Printed Circuit Board Design and Machine Design
Prerequisites:
Depends on the choice of area the student decides to work on. Courses such as ECE 264, ECE 362 and ECE 364 will be very useful.
