Meet Alumni: Trenton Morton

I graduated in 2009 from Purdue University (B.S. Nuclear Engineering) and in 2012 from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, Bloomington (Doctor of Jurisprudence). In 2008, I interned with Honeywell International at its Metropolis Tool Works uranium conversion facility. While in law school, I was a senior board member of the Federal Communications Law Journal and a thrice-elected member of the student government.

I am a member of the Indiana Bar and am admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. I began working full-time for the international law firm Faegre Baker Daniels LL (offices across the U.S., and in China, and the U.K.) in September 2012. For the past three-and-a-half years, I've worked in patent prosecution and litigation, with the past two-and-a-half years focusing on patent litigation. My present practice focuses on representing clients in various federal district courts and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board at the U.S. Patent Office to resolve issues related to the infringement and validity of U.S. patents.

The various products at issue in the cases I've recently litigated patents include plastic air mattresses, child playpens, orthopedic hip implants, dental implants, and pool filter pumps. I've worked on litigation matters for both publicly-traded and privately-held companies, most of which operate and sell products internationally.
