Seungjin Kim is the New Chair of the Council of Advisors of the NEA Global Forum on Nuclear Education, Science, Technology and Policy

Seungjin Kim, professor and Capt. James F. McCarthy, Jr. and Cheryl E. McCarthy Head of the School of Nuclear Engineering, has been unanimously elected as the new Chair of the Council of Advisors of the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) Global Forum on Nuclear Education, Science, Technology and Policy.

In this role, Kim will use his extensive background, expertise and experience to lead the Global Forum’s Council of Advisors into the next phase of program work. 

Established in 2021, the NEA Global Forum serves as a vital platform for collaboration among academic institutions, policymakers, and key stakeholders within the nuclear energy sector. It is led by the Council of Advisors, representatives from over 20 influential global universities with nuclear education programs. Together, the group of leaders aim to address existing gaps by facilitating shared activities and programs, conducting studies related to the future of the nuclear sector, and holding symposia to discuss emerging issues and creative solutions related to nuclear science and technology, education, and policy. NEA Global Forum is one of 17 global forums operating within the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD).
