4+1 BSNE/MSNE Program

Purdue is Ranked #4 Graduate Engineering Program! U.S. News & World Report, 2024
Earn a BSNE & MSNE in Only 5 Years!

Why earn your Bachelor's AND Master's Degree in Nuclear Engineering

Our 4+1 BSNE/MSNE is an exclusive program for current Purdue NE undergraduates that allows students to earn both a BS and MS in as few as five years. This program leverages the outstanding characteristics of the Purdue NE undergraduate experience to accelerate completion of a Master's degree.

The BSNE degree prepares you for a wide range of jobs in nuclear engineering. Graduates design, develop and work in a wide range of areas including hydrogen and fuel cell systems, nuclear radiation, reactor physics, renewable and hybrid nuclear systems, thermal hydraulics and reactor safety. As the demand for skilled nuclear engineers grows, graduates that extend their education with a MSNE are even more well-positioned to pursue diverse career opportunities spanning power generation, environmental remediation, medical applications, and beyond.
