de Bedout Piazza

The de Bedout Piazza is an open-air gathering space for Purdue students located just outside the Tompkins Learning Center. Picnic and collaboration tables surrounded by greenery and next to a fountain provide a welcoming and comfortable area for group meetings, individual study, or just a nice lunch break.

The de Bedout Piazza was built in memory of Berta Molina de Bedout, through the generosity of her son, Juan Ernesto de Bedout. Berta Molina de Bedout was a "Colombian Matriarch of Boilermakers": Juan Ernesto de Bedout (BSIE ’67, MS ’68, HDR ’13), Juan Manuel de Bedout (BSME ’94, MS ’96, PhD ’00), Juan Diego Velasquez (BSIE ’98, MS ’03, PhD ’09), and Tatiana de Bedout (BA Biology ’02, MS ’06).
