Chemical Engineering Graduate Students Recognized for Research and Scholarship
WEST LAFAYETTE, IND -- Graduate students at the Purdue University Davidson School of Chemical Engineering are being recognized for their research achievements and scholarly contributions.
Perez Schuster featured in InnovatED graduate research magazine
Gabriel Perez Schuster, a doctoral student in the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering advised by professor Linda Wang, has been selected as a featured scholar in InnovatED, an online magazine produced by Purdue’s Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
InnovatED highlights innovative research and real-world impact from Purdue graduate students and postdoctoral scholars. Each year, 10 scholars are selected to share their research stories in the publication.
Perez Schuster was featured in the 2025–26 edition of the magazine, which highlights his work on recovering valuable metal compounds from waste materials. His research explores ways to transform waste into resources that can support technologies powering the future.
The program showcases scholars whose research addresses global challenges while demonstrating the impact of Purdue graduate research.
Nogaja receives Faculty Lectureship Award
Akash Nogaja, who completed a doctoral degree in chemical engineering in the summer of 2025, recently received the Faculty Lectureship Award from the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering.
The award recognizes outstanding scholarly research and publication by a Purdue Chemical Engineering graduate student. The recipient receives a certificate, a $500 monetary award, and the opportunity to present a 30-minute lecture to faculty members and graduate students on their research.
Akash Nogaja presented the Faculty Lectureship seminar on February 12, 2026, sharing research conducted under the guidance of professors Rakesh Agrawal and Mohit Tawarmalani. The award presentation also included John Morgan, director of graduate studies at the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering.
