Assistant or Associate Professor of Chemical Engineering

Job Summary

The Charles D. Davidson School of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University invites applications for an assistant or associate professor position. Purdue University seeks to attract exceptional candidates with interests and expertise in the areas of biotechnology and/or polymer science. That is, all aspects of each area are of potential interest to the search as well as the intersection between these areas. Successful candidates must hold a Ph.D. degree in chemistry, biology, chemical engineering, biological engineering, materials science, or a related discipline and demonstrate potential to build an independent research program, as well as potential to educate and mentor students and postdoctoral researchers. A successful candidate will conduct original research, advise graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, instruct undergraduate and graduate level courses, and perform service at the School, College, and University levels.

School and College

The Charles D. Davidson School of Chemical Engineering at Purdue University is home to top-ranked undergraduate and graduate chemical engineering graduate programs, six members of the National Academy of Engineering, two members of the National Academy of Inventors, and two awardees of the National Medal of Technology. The faculty, staff, postdoctoral researchers, and students of the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering discover and disseminate knowledge in cross-cutting areas that significantly move both fundamental principles and translational practices forward. As such, the Davidson School of Chemical Engineering plays key roles in many large centers such as the NSF-sponsored CISTAR ERC and the LyoHub while having strong connections to entities such as the Purdue Institute for Drug Discovery and Purdue University Center for Cancer Research.

The School is an integral part of Purdue’s College of Engineering.
