The American Institute of Chemical Engineering (AIChE) recently recognized Professor Michael Harris for his ongoing support and generous assistance to Minority Affairs Committee (MAC).

Professor Harris was one of 12 inaugural recipients of the Pioneers of Diversity Award from the AIChE honored in 2015.

The new awards were conceived to coincide with the 25th Anniversary of the AIChE MAC. They honor the career achievements and leadership contributions of chemical engineers who shaped MACs progress and promoted diversity within AIChE and the profession.

The award was presented in a ceremony November 9, 2015 at the AIChE National Meeting in Salt Lake City.
