Alumni Aditya Bhan (PhD 2005) and Jamey Young (PhD 2005) received Department of Energy Early Career Awards in 2012.
Aditya Bhan received his PhD in 2005, co-advised by Professors Nicholas Delgass and Jochen Lauterbach. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Materials Science at the University of Minnesota. His project is titled “One‐Pot Catalytic Conversion of Biomass and Alkanes: Kinetically Coupling Deoxygenation and Dehydrogenation Pathways.”

Jamey D. Young received his PhD also in 2005, under the guidance of Professor Doraiswami Ramkrishna. He is now an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and Assistant Professor of Molecular Physiology and Biophysics at Vanderbilt University. His project is titled “Enhancing Metabolic Flux to Photosynthetic Biofuels.”

Both Aditya and Jamey received the National Science Foundation Early Career Awards in 2011.
