Graduate student Danni Gao won the 2013 AICHE Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Poster Competition with her poster titled Catalytic Hydrodeoxygenation of Guaiacol. One prize is awarded each year for the best Catalysis poster at the 2013 annual Fall AICHE meeting.

Danni Gao joined the School of Chemical Engineering in Fall 2009 and is advised by Professor Arvind Varma. Her research is focused on alternative energy, specifically the catalytic upgrading of pyrolysis bio-oils topic.
