Nicholas Delgass Receives the 2012 AIChE R.H. Wilhelm Award
Professor Nicholas Delgass will receive the 2012 AIChE R.H. Wilhelm Award in Chemical Reaction Engineering. The Wilhelm Award is among the few AIChE Institute wide awards. Professor Delgass will receive the award at the AIChE Annual Meeting to be held in Pittsburgh during October 28 - November 2, 2012.
The award is for Professor Delgass' distinguished and sustained contributions to the field of Chemical Reaction Engineering. His citation reads: "For fundamental advances in the understanding and engineering of catalysts through pioneering contributions in techniques for catalyst characterization, reaction and catalyst chemistry, and catalyst design."
Professor Delgass has been a faculty member in the School of Chemical Engineering at Purdue since 1974 and was named the Maxine Spencer Nichols Professor in 2007. He retired in May 2012 and is now continuing his contributions to the School as the Maxine Spencer Nichols Emeritus Professor of Chemical Engineering.
