Ebru Oral (PhD 2002) Receives Two Awards

Ebru Oral (PhD 2002), was awarded the 2011 HAP Paul Award, which is given by the International Society for Technology in Arthroplasty, for her work Novel Active Stabilization Technology in Highly Cross-linked UHMWPEs for Superior Stability. The HAP Paul Award is given for research that outlines new developments in the field of Arthroplasty. She also received this award in 2006.
She was also honored as the 2011 Claflin Distinguished Scholar for her work Porous-backed polyethylene with improved fatigue strength as an alternative to catastrophically failed metal-on-metal joint implants. The Claflin Award is presented to outstanding women scientists.


Dr. Oral is an Instructor in Orthopedic Surgery at the Massachusetts General Hospital, in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery.
