Two Chemical Engineering Alumni Honored with Purdue Honorary Doctorate Degrees

Deborah Grubbe (BSChE ’77) and Timothy McGinley (BSChE ’63) will receive Honorary Doctorate of Engineering degrees during the Spring 2010 commencement ceremony.

Deborah Grubbe (BSChE ’77) and Timothy McGinley (BSChE ’63) will receive Honorary Doctorate of Engineering degrees during the Spring 2010 commencement ceremony.

Deborah Grubbe is recognized for her outstanding leadership and technical accomplishments within the world’s major oil and chemical companies, her leadership in promoting excellence and diversity, her accomplishments in global safety leadership in all business areas: exploration and production, refining and marketing, gas, solar, and renewable. Deborah has distinguished herself as an alumni leader, particularly as a member of the ChE Industrial Advisory Council and the successful ChE Capital Campaign Committee.
 
Timothy McGinley is recognized for his accomplishments as a businessman and a fundraiser, for his personal benevolence and for his continuing commitment to Purdue University, his community, the State of Indiana and our country. Mr. McGinley was a member of the Purdue University Board of trustees for 20 years beginning in 1989. He was Chairman for the Board for 16 years beginning in 1993 and continuing until his retirement in July 2009. He is currently serving as a member of the Campaign for Purdue Steering Committee, the Purdue Research Foundation Board of Directors, the President’s Council and a member of Purdue’s Capital Formation Committee.
