In recognition of his excellence in teaching, Dr. W. Nicholas Delgass was awarded the 2007 Shreve Undergraduate Teaching Award. Professor Delgass has received the Shreve Award seven times, more than anyone in the School's history. He has also received the College of Engineering Potter and University-level Murphy teaching awards, is a member of the Purdue University Teaching Academy, and entered the Purdue University Book of Great Teachers in 2003.
The Shreve Undergraduate Teaching Award in Chemical Engineering was established in 1974, when the Shreve Prize in Chemical Processing was modified to recognize outstanding teaching by a ChE faculty member. The recipient is selected by chemical engineering seniors and is also the School's nominee for the College of Engineering A.A. Potter Award.
