Professor Kumares Sinha receives lifetime achievement award

Dr. Kumares Sinha, the Edgar B. and Hedwig M. Olson Distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering, received the inaugural MAIREPAV Lifetime Achievement Award at the 8th International Conference on Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Pavements in Singapore.

Dr. Kumares Sinha, the Edgar B. and Hedwig M. Olson Distinguished Professor of Civil Engineering, received the inaugural MAIREPAV Lifetime Achievement Award at the 8th International Conference on Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Pavements in Singapore (July 27-29, 2016). The MAIREPAV conference series was founded by the International Society of Maintenance and Rehabilitation of Transport Infrastructures (iSMARTi).

Dr. Sinha has been a faculty member at Purdue for over 40 years. He has published 107 articles in the Transportation Research Record, authored 3 national cooperative highway research program reports, and contributed to innumerable presentations at Transportation Research Board conferences. His research on system performance, costing, and network optimization are used worldwide and have been adopted in pavement, bridge and safety management systems developed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Federal Highway Administration, and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.
