Congratulations to Dominique Oden and Casey Rodgers on being named the CE Outstanding Seniors for 2019-2020! They were selected due to their outstanding service to Purdue University, the community, and their academic achievements.

Congratulations to Dominique Oden and Casey Rodgers on being named the CE Outstanding Seniors for 2019-2020!

Dominique Oden, hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, is the starting shooting guard on the Purdue University Women's Basketball team. After she graduates, Dominique plans to pursue her Master's degree and deepen her understanding of all things civil engineering — particularly, architectural and structural engineering.

Casey Rodgers, of Bloomington, Indiana, is the captain of the Lyles School’s Seismic Design Competition Team, creating structures that must stand up to real-world seismic events. After she graduate in May, she plans to pursue her Master’s degree in structural engineering.

The CE Outstanding Undergraduate Seniors are selected according to the following criteria:

  • Service to Purdue (to the College of Engineering or the university as a whole)
  • Service to Community (volunteer work, community projects, etc.)
  • Service Character (willingness to serve, positive attitude, helpful and enjoyable)
  • Organizational Involvement (student organizations and clubs, honor societies and organizations, departmental organizations, etc.)
  • Technical Achievements (patents, publications, research work, technical awards, coops/ internships, etc.)
  • Academic Achievements (honors, awards, teaching assistant, etc.)
