George Watson named 2023 ACEC Indiana Young Engineer of the Year

Congratulations to George Watson (BSCE 2010), PE, PMP, CPESC, Indiana Bridge Lead and Assistant Vice President at WSP USA, for being named the 2023 Indiana Young Engineer of the Year by the American Council of Engineering Companies of Indiana.

Congratulations to George Watson (BSCE 2010), PE, PMP, CPESC, Indiana Bridge Lead and Assistant Vice President at WSP USA, for being named the 2023 Indiana Young Engineer of the Year by the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Indiana. The award was established in 2016 to acknowledge an engaged ACEC Indiana member 35 and younger for their outstanding talents, skills and abilities representing the next generation of engineering leaders.

George is a 2019 graduate of the ACEC Engineering Leadership Program and currently engaged in ACEC’s first Pinnacle Leadership Series. He has served on the ACEC IDNR Committee, chaired the QBS Committee, and served as a Subcommittee Chair in the Membership Engagement Committee. George has assisted ACEC to present on a wide variety of topics including QBS for emerging professionals, the visa sponsorship process for international candidates and moderating a panel at the Client Interaction Workshop. George currently serves as the Vice President for ASCE Metropolitan Indy Branch. At WSP, George leads the firm’s Formal Mentoring Program, hosts median clean up days, plans happy hours and social events, and organizes the monthly bike-to-work days.
