Cassie is a junior from Moline, IL studying transportation in the Lyles School of Civil Engineering and is a student in the Honors College. She is heavily involved in campus activities, serving as a rank leader and ambassador for the Purdue "All-American" Marching Band; Industrial Relations Chair for the Purdue Chapter of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE); and a member of the Purdue Civil Engineering Recruitment Committee. She currently works as an undergraduate research assistant for the Joint Transportation Research Program (JTRP).

Cassie has worked as a civil engineering intern for both Nucor Building Systems and Norfolk Southern, and this upcoming summer she will be working for Burns and McDonnell in their main transportation office in Chicago. Outside of academics, she plays trumpet in Boiler Brass (the men’s basketball pep band), and participates in intramural leagues for volleyball and softball.

The Edward J. Cox Memorial Transportation Scholarship Award is presented annually by the Indiana Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers to encourage students to consider Transportation Engineering/Planning in their studies and career aspirations and to provide partial financial support for tuition and fees to students who have demonstrated an interest in and are likely to work in the transportation field.
