Carmen Caserio receives Edward J. Cox Memorial Transportation Scholarship Award and Jim Loew Award

CCE undergraduate student Carmen Caserio has been selected by the Indiana Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers as a recipient of the Edward J Cox Memorial Transportation Scholarship and the Jim Loew Award.

The Edward J. Cox Memorial Transportation Scholarship Award is presented annually by the Indiana Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers to encourage students to consider transportation engineering/planning in their studies and career aspirations and to provide partial financial support for tuition and fees to students who have demonstrated an interest in and are likely to work in the transportation field. Additionally, the Jim Loew Award is given to the top scorer among the scholarship applicants. This award is given in honor of James Loew, a longtime Indiana Section Scholarship Committee Chair who worked in the transportation industry for over 30 years.

Carmen Caserio is a junior studying civil engineering, with a concentration in transportation. He is very passionate about developing sustainable and equitable transportation systems that connect communities and improve the livability of urban areas. Carmen is active in various student groups, including the Sustainable Transportation Research Systems Group, ASCE, and Purdue ITE.
