Dr. Varma invited to serve on international research program committee

Dr. Amit Varma was recently invited to serve as an advisory committee member for the research program and code development effort, "Specification for Safety Related Steel Plate Concrete Structures for Nuclear Facilities."

Dr. Amit Varma was recently invited to serve as an advisory committee member for the research program and code development effort, "Specification for Safety Related Steel Plate Concrete Structures for Nuclear Facilities," being conducted by the Korean Society of Steel Construction (KSSC).  This invitation was based on Dr. Varma's recent research on the "Thermal-Structural Behavior of Composite Sandwich Walls for Nuclear Facilities," and his work for AISC Task Committee 12 - Nuclear Facilities Design, Sub-committee on Modular Composite Construction.

Dr. Varma visited Seoul, South Korea to meet with KSSC from Sep. 30 - Oct. 3, 2007.  During his visit, he also presented a departmental seminar on the same research topic at Seoul National University.
