Civil Engineering and Herrick Labs PhD student Sichen Lu won the Best Paper Award at the 8th International High Performance Buildings Conference, organized at Purdue in July 2024. The award includes a $1,000 prize.

The award-winning paper, “Enabling Human-Centered Daylighting Operation using Non-Intrusive Luminance Monitoring and Deep Learning,” was co-authored by Dongjun Mah, also a PhD student of Civil Engineering and Herrick Labs, and Prof. Thanos Tzempelikos.
