Biography

Margaret Gitau’s research focuses on water resources and ecohydrologic engineering including: hydrologic and water quality modeling; fate and transport of critical contaminants including sediment, nutrients, and pathogens; understanding of the associated ecological responses; trends and impacts of land use, land management and climate on water resources; sustainable water resources management; and, the development of computer and internet-based applications.

She serves as Associate Editor for the Transactions of the ASABE, Applied Engineering in Agriculture, and the Journal of Soil and Water Conservation. She also serves as a reviewer for various internationally recognized journals and is currently serving on the Program Committee of ASABE’s Global Initiative Conference.

Margaret received her Ph.D. in Agricultural and Biological Engineering from Penn State University (2003).
