It's time for a new building for Agricultural and Biological Engineering

It’s time for a new building for Agricultural and Biological Engineering.

A major step was taken toward renovation of the existing three story portion of the ABE building and a 125,000 square foot addition during the early hours of April 22.  The Indiana General Assembly passed the 2017-2019 state budget that includes $69 million that Purdue University requested in support of the $80 million ABE building renovation and addition and Governor iHolcomb has signed the budget!

The three-story portion of the existing building will be renovated and a new multi-level facility will be constructed in the footprint of the current one-story portion of the building.  As a result of growth in our programs and the condition and capabilities of some existing ABE facilities, we currently have programs located in 10 buildings beyond the ABE building. The renovation and building addition capital project will provide the quantity, quality, and type of space needed to support our students, faculty, and staff in their learning, discovery, and engagement efforts for decades to come.

Securing support for the ABE building from the state was key – but we haven’t reached our $80 million goal to realize the project. A total of $11 million must be secured through private fundraising, and we need your help. If you would like to learn more about being part of the opportunity to help provide a building that will serve ABE for decades to come, please let us know or visit giving.purdue.edu/abe.
