Title: Speech perception outcomes of Advanced Bionics V1 cochlear implant recipients

Abstract: Cochlear implants are the gold-standard treatment for severe to profound hearing loss in children and adults. As the most successful sensory prosthetic devices, cochlear implant outcomes have shown significant improvements in speech perception in quiet for its recipients. However, these devices are not infallible and are occasionally susceptible to failure. This study aims to evaluate the impact of re-implantation on speech perception outcomes in patients who received the Advanced Bionics Ultra HiRes (V1) or Ultra HiRes 3D (V1) devices, which were later recalled in February 2020. The primary goal of this project was to determine whether patients show significant improvement in speech perception scores following re-implantation compared to their performance after the implantation of their original device.
