  • Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) systems offer some benefits in reduction of fatalities.
  • Benefits are much more likely to accrue to older cyclists than younger.
  • The peak benefits for all groups occur in the range from closing speeds of about 15-22 mph.
  • It is suggested that the system will not generate a large reduction in fatalities or social cost.
