TASI Driving Simulator Laboratory

The Driving Simulator Laboratory was established in 2007 as TASI’s first research facility. This lab is equipped with two driving simulators: the DriveSafety DS-600c driving simulator and a Real-Time Technology driving simulator. The driving simulators provide a flexible and realistic environment for research on driver behavior, human machine interfaces, advanced driver assistance system (ADAS), and automated driving technologies. A portable Computer-assisted Alcohol Infusion System (CAIS) and its software tool allow TASI to conduct relevant test involving the effects of alcohol on drivers. A high-quality driver state sensing system and other sensing systems will provide a comprehensive ability to acquire various driving and physiological data including heart, brain, muscle, and ocular activities.
