Beering succeeds company founder Richard May, who is retiring but will remain chairman of the board.

Most recently, Beering was chief operating officer at Trojan Battery Co. Previously he held various senior leadership roles at Eaton.

Beering earned a bachelor's degree from the Purdue School of Industrial Engineering (1992) and a Master's of Science in management, marketing and finance (1997) from the Krannert School of Management.

He is also a member of the Purdue Industrial Engineering Advisory Board.
