The IE 200 Seminar class hosted a panel discussion on Feb. 2 where senior students discussed job fairs, internships, clubs, organizations, and lessons learned as Purdue students.

The audience of sophomores participated in the discussion and questioned seniors about their internships and IE life at Purdue. Panelists and their internships were: Eren Bozbag (DeLoitte), Liz Held (Tesla), Anneliese Smith (Walt Disney World and Disneyland), Raghav Gandhi (PWC), and Christian Gatmaitan (GE Healthcare).

The panelists shared their experiences and tips for preparing for interviews, finding mentors, getting the most out of courses, gaining leadership experience, and being involved in extracurricular activities. About 80 sophomore students attended.

Junior Pam Yuan, a teaching assistant for the class, felt she benefitted as well as the students in the class. "I think they were inspired to see upperclassmen only two years older than they were, who are currently thriving in the field of industrial engineering," she said. "The students were able to realize that it is possible for them to create their own definition of success within our major. For me, I was able to be reminded that with hard work and a curious mind, IE can take us all on the optimal journey to pursuing our passions."
