New 2017 Maymester course in Spain
"System Dynamics Modeling for Engineers" (SA 10526) will be held at Clen College in Pamplona, Spain, May 8-31, 2017.
This new program is the first systems dynamics course targeted for undergraduate IE students, although it’s open to all engineering undergraduates. “The course will teach students core topics within system dynamics (e.g., causal loop modeling, stock and flow modeling, analysis software) through the lens of issues in and around Pamplona, Spain,” said Patrick “Doc B” Brunese, IE Senior Academic Administrator.
One of the unique facts about this program is that it is the first and only short term study abroad program that IE has ever offered in Spain. It is also one of only three short-term Study Abroad programs offered by the College of Engineering in Spain this summer. The other two are courses from the Schools of Mechanical Engineering and Electrical & Computer Engineering.
Participating students will also receive three credits of Spanish language instruction from Clen College.
IE Assistant Professor Joaquín Goñi will coordinate the program and will be responsible for instruction of the System Dynamics component.
Interested engineering students may apply here, or contact Dr. Brunese or Prof. Goñi for more information.
Clen College is located in Pamplona, about 240 miles northeast of Madrid in northern Spain. Pamplona is the capital of Navarre province and holds the famous Running of the Bulls event every July.
