Dr. Juan P. Wachs, associate professor of industrial engineering, will be awarded the James A. and Sharon M. Tompkins Rising Star Professorship in Industrial Engineering. He heads the Intelligent Systems and Assistive Technologies (ISAT) Lab, and his research interests include machine and computer vision, robotics, tele-operations, human-computer interaction, and assistive technologies and health support systems.
The School of Industrial Engineering awards Rising Star professorships to Assistant or Associate Professors who have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments and leadership in research, teaching and/or engagement.
The reception will take place from 3:00-5:00 PM in the Peter Wang Student Center in Grissom Hall, 315 N. Grant Street.
