Dr. Gesualdo Scutari, associate professor of industrial engineering, will be awarded the Thomas and Jane Schmidt Rising Star Professorship in Industrial Engineering. His research interests include big data analytics, distributed optimization of large-scale complex networks, algorithmic game theory and applications, variational Inequality methods for engineering, optimization of smart grids, and distributed bio-inspired signal processing.
The School of Industrial Engineering awards Rising Star professorships to Assistant or Associate Professors who have demonstrated exceptional accomplishments and leadership in research, teaching and/or engagement.
The reception will take place from 2:00-4:00 PM in the Peter Wang Student Center in Grissom Hall, 315 N. Grant Street, West Lafayette.
