Engineering Management with
This special Interdisciplinary Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) degree is specifically designed for recent college graduates preparing for a career in industry and is open to candidates from any engineering discipline. It is a 21 month program that includes a 12 month co-op assignment or internship.
A key component of the Interdisciplinary Engineering MSE Degree, setting it apart from other Engineering Masters degrees, is its blend of business and engineering courses providing an emphasis in systems and business management. Students in the Engineering Management and Professional Practice program will have options for customizing their engineering degree for their specific discipline* and career goals.
This unique graduate program is designed for students to integrate theory and practice and confirm career choices through graduate level Co-Op assignments, ultimately becoming stronger and more qualified professional engineers.
This MSE is an on-campus degree with a distance component during the Co-Op assignment. Classes taught during the 3 terms students are away from campus will be taught via online course delivery utilizing streaming video, asynchronously delivered to ensure optimal timing for a candidate in light of their Co-Op work schedules. This degree will take approximately 21 months to complete.
Plan of Study
Engineering Management with Professional Practice students will take 33 credit hours to complete their degree.
- 21 credit hours in Engineering choosing from classes such as Aero & Astro, Biomedical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. A minimum of 9 credit hours from Systems Engineering Courses.
- 12 credit hours in graduate business study. Course options will cover a range of topics including Accounting for Managers, Marketing Management and Operations Management.
- Plus 3 term Co-Op Assignment *9 credit hours of engineering study are completed at a distance via online learning during the Co-Op phase.
