One of the challenges in developing a new program that brings together different disciplines is creating a transparent information structure that clearly communicates program goals and milestones. Over the last few years, the ENE Graduate Committee has been diligently working to address this need to "get our process down" so that students and faculty can work together to more effectively plan and monitor progress towards an ENE PhD degree.

The outcome of this work has been a set of milestone checklists and guides from developing a Plan of Study and identifying committee members to defending a final thesis defense and participating in an exit interview. These checklists do not replace existing documents, but rather translate them into a more easy-to-follow guidebook with step-by-step instructions. In this seminar, we will present these checklists and engage students and faculty in user-centered analyses of these documents.
