ENE Explorer Presentation
The first project discussed explores how microelectronics and microcontrollers have been integrated into engineering curriculums to enhance active learning, engagement, and foundational competencies. In this study, Udeme Idem conducted a systematic literature review following PRISMA and by gathering data from Compendex, Scopus, and Inspec. Through this project, she learned about how to apply systematic review methods, including PRISMA criteria, and pedagogical approaches for integrating microelectronics into engineering.
In the second project, she explored how prompt engineering can be utilized to guide Generative AI use in ways that foster divergent thinking. Idem learned how Generative AI can be used in ways that enable humans to actively guide AI-driven design processes.
She will cover methods learned that span both studies, ways to specify inclusion/exclusion criteria and processes for generating qualitative insights from scholarly literature.
Bio
Udeme Idem is a first-year graduate student in the School of Engineering Education at Purdue University. She received her B.Eng/B.S in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Federal University Oye-Ekiti/Air Force Institute of Technology Kaduna, Prior to her graduate studies, she had worked for 13 years with Dangote Cement PLC, Obajana Plant, Nigeria.
