Mobius - move your mind

Why is it that some teams can pull off great feats of collaboration, and others flounder and stall out? Whether it’s in education, on the job or in social change movements, a key ingredient for successfully navigating complexity together is trust.  The Mobius Method helps individuals and teams engage in the powerful learning, deep reflection and authentic connection that is essential to meeting the challenges of our times.  This seminar will be based on Principles of Co-Creativity for Engineers, a highly interactive workshop that is specifically designed to help engineers expand their abilities to co-create with others.  This seminar will be light on lecture and heavy on participation.  Please join us for some serious play, and be prepared to move, laugh, reflect and connect!

BIO | Amelia is an experienced dancer, facilitator, and educator based in Asheville, North Carolina. Reluctant to choose between art and science, her work unites the two.

After a career as a professional modern dancer and educator, Amelia founded Mobius to use movement as a powerful tool for groups that range from schoolchildren and at-risk teens to engineers and business executives. Through movement, participants gain a deep understanding of complex ideas, build trust, and discover new ways to collaborate effectively.  Mobius includes a movement-based K-12 science curriculum as well as offerings for higher education, businesses and social change organizations.

Her approach has been presented at the Engineers Without Borders Canada conference, various STEM conferences across the US, and Bioneers by the Bay. Clients have included the Byron Fellowship Educational Foundation, the Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education, the North Dakota STEM Network, the Teton Science Schools in Wyoming, and MetaIntegral Associates.  Amelia is passionate about using the arts to expand the pipeline into STEM fields, inviting more bright minds into the exciting endeavor of creating our future.
