Why Do So Many Designs Look the Same?

Steven Smith, Ph.D., the Coordinator of Research for the Texas A&M University Institute for Applied Creativity, will tell us about how what we know can prevent us from coming up with new designs, and how to break set successfully. Dr. Smith is himself one of the three fathers of the Creative Cognition Paradigm, which he has applied successfully to dozens of projects with mechanical engineers, business school researchers, and computer scientists. http://www.tamu.edu/faculty/stevesmith/ and http://ecologylab.net/people/steve.html

Reception open to faculty after the seminar, to be hosted by Demetra Evangelou.
