As part of a Purdue University School of Engineering Education project funded through the National Endowment for the Humanities, this event connects researchers at Purdue and beyond who are working at the intersection of humanities, social sciences, and engineering disciplines to facilitate creative conversations that could inspire future research.

 


What: Bridging Disciplines: A Research Colloquium and Roundtable on Interdisciplinary Education

When: Wednesday, April 2, 2025, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Where: Purdue University, Stewart Center, Rm 278

One-day, in-person event that includes a panel of invited speakers from different disciplinary backgrounds who work on topics at the intersection of humanities, social sciences, and engineering; interactive networking/discussion sessions; and a lunch where speakers and participants can connect.

  • Jacob Grohs, Ph.D. – Associate Professor of Engineering Education, Virginia Tech
  • Per Urlaub, Ph.D. – Director of Global Languages, at Massachusetts Institute of Technology
  • Kristin Boudreau, Ph.D. – Professor of Humanities and Arts, Worcester Polytechnic Institute
  • Olga Pierrakos, Ph.D. – Professor of Engineering, Wake Forest University
