Engineering Science Studies

Engineering Science Studies offers an opportunity to mix engineering and science, as well as the humanities, and management/economics topics toward a bachelor in science degree. This program allows IDES students to be exposed to a wide range of topics, and develop an appreciation for engineering thinking and problem solving. Students should take under consideration that the IDES program is not ABET-accredited and, as such, is not recommended for students desiring a career in any field of engineering practice.

Potential Industries: Students from this concentration may work in a wide range of industries, company sizes, and roles. The technical depth of such roles will vary by industry and company/firm type.

Potential Coursework: The coursework may vary widely from student to student. Those choosing this pathway acknowledge that their interests may be broad and unable to be accomplished in either a purely liberal arts or technical degree program. As such, they are likely to explore career interests at the intersection of multiple domains. Work experience as well as development of complimentary social and professional skills, and academic achievement weigh heavily into the opportunities that present themselves in either the public/private sector, or advanced educational studies.
