  • Recipient of grant from the Faculty Development Services at Western Michigan University to attend the Timberline Estimating Educators' Workshop, Portland, Oregon, May 1992.
  • Coordinator, Lyles Computer Lab Coordinator, Division of Construction Engineering and Management, Purdue University (1993-1995).
  • Beta Tau Construction Engineering Honorary Outstanding Professor Award (1996, 2001, 2006, 2007). The awardee is selected annually by the students in the Division of Construction Engineering and Management as the outstanding teacher in the Division.
  • In January 1997 and August 1998, Dr. Abraham attended the Classroom Climate Workshops, developed by the Schools of Engineering and the Women in Engineering programs. These workshops provided guidelines for maintaining gender equality and providing responses concerning cultural awareness, respectively, in classroom activities.
  • Co-principal investigator and co-author of the School of Civil Engineering's GAANN (Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need) proposal to the Department of Education (PI: E. Blatchley, Co-PIs and co-authors: R. Whitford, D. M. Abraham, J. Bethel, P. Fox, J. Ramirez, S. Peeta). The proposal was funded in May 1998 for $ 472,890 ($ 378,330 from the Department of Education and cost sharing of $ 94,560 from Purdue University), and provides 6 fellowships over a three-year period for U.S. students to pursue their Ph.D.s, in the broadly defined area of environmental engineering.
  • Recipient of the Beta Tau Construction Engineering Honorary Outstanding Professor Award – 1997, 2001

  • Mentor in the Teaching Academy Faculty Mentoring Network since Fall 2003
